Tough nights and a little skier

So it's been pretty tough at nights in the last week, first 2 days of crying from weaning Lexi off the binky. Then it's another 3 nights of crying because she got hooked on drinking milk in her crib while falling asleep, i guess she just wanted to suck on something to get comfort. But i had to just tell her no more milk in bed because it will give her big-o-bugs in her teeth. She would fall asleep and wake up from it in a few minutes, whining and crying for milk. Today is the first day that she actually took a few sips of water after crying for a few minutes. When she does that she wakes up Brandan, and once he wakes up, he wants milk, water, play down stairs just like what Lexi asks for.  Putting them to bed at 8:30 had resulted in actually falling asleep around 10:00.  Sigh! Sometimes i just want to yank both of them out of the bed and spank them. But we are not at that point yet.  I get so frustrated, but I keep telling myself to give them a week to get rid of that bad routine before I make any changes.

So Brandan went to ski today for the first time.  Tony got him out of the bed at 6 am and put him in his snow pants and fleece and strapped him in the car and took him to Big Bear.  I stayed home, but it seemed like they both had a great time. Brandan did good at the ski school, he didn't fall much and listened to the instructor very well.  It was so cute that his lift tickets says "Little Bear Camp".  He was so excited but tried his very best to hid his excitement when he got home. He didn't want to talk about it, but the grim on his face was so obvious, his dimples were showing even without him smiling.  He said he cried at the end, because he couldn't move, Tony guessed that he was exhausted and hungry and asked him if he wanted to eat some lunch.  Brandan then asked for hamburger and a hot dog. And he had to have both because he said he was really hungry and he "had to" eat.  Too bad Tony forgot the camera so we could only imagine him on the slope with other kids.

I am gonna have to go with them  myself to see how he is doing. The Gymnastics class really boosted his confidence and increased his ability to balance and do other physical activities.

my sister gave them a tippy cup (the kind that doesn't spill) with water to take to bed with them when they were weaning off the binkies. That way they have something that's good for them, won't rot their teeth, and is also a 'big kids' cup.

Good luck!

that worked for Brandan, but lexi is whole another ball game. She will press the bottle against the pillow or the bed until it's all wet, and then she will call me in to her room and ask to get a change. She even takes off her diapers and pants and yell, "i got to go peepee". So many times i am tempted to just let her pee all over herself to sleep.
